Everything you need to know about TV mounting, smart home installation, and working with Cognito Media Services in Dallas–Fort Worth.
What does Cognito Media Services do?
Cognito Media Services is a Dallas–Fort Worth technology integration company that installs TVs, home theaters, smart home automation, and hardwired security cameras. We also install Sonos, Ring, Nest, Yale smart locks, outdoor audio, and commercial A/V systems.
Where is Cognito Media Services located?

How much does TV mounting cost in Dallas?
Standard TV wall mounting is $129 for 32–55 inch sets, $169 for 56–75 inch, and $219 for 76 inch and up. A premium flush install with full in-wall cable concealment is $280. Stone, brick, or above-fireplace mounts add a $105–$160 masonry surcharge depending on the surface and the cable routing.
How much does smart home installation cost in Dallas?
Single-device installs (Ring doorbell, Nest thermostat, smart lock) start at $105–$120. A Smart Home Starter Bundle (Ring + Nest + setup) is $400. Whole-home hub setup on Apple Home, Google Home, or Alexa is $200. Lutron Caseta and Philips Hue scene programming runs $160–$240.
How much do security cameras cost in Dallas?
Hardwired 4K PoE single cameras are $200 each installed. A 4-camera system with NVR, 2TB drive, and app setup is $1,280. The 8-camera system with 4TB storage is $2,240. No monthly cloud fees — everything records locally to your NVR.
Can you mount a TV on a stone or brick fireplace?
Yes — fireplace mounts are one of our specialties. We drill into stone, brick, and tile with masonry bits, route the cables inside the wall (not through a surface kit), and use mounts rated for the heat profile above a working firebox.
Do you install Ring, Sonos, Apple Home, and Google Home?
Yes. We install Ring doorbells and cameras, Sonos multi-room audio, and set everything up on Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, or Home Assistant — whichever hub your family already uses. We also install Ecobee and Nest thermostats, Yale and Schlage smart locks, Philips Hue and Lutron Caseta lighting, and Ubiquiti mesh WiFi to tie it all together.
Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?
Yes. We hold a Texas low-voltage contractor license, are bonded, and carry $2M in general liability plus workers comp. Every install includes a lifetime workmanship guarantee.
How long does a typical TV or smart home install take?
Most single-TV installs take 1–3 hours. A multi-TV home with Sonos and security cameras is usually a single full day. Full smart home automation or home theater builds are scoped by room and completed in 1–5 days.
